I was fortunate to participate in FinovateSpring in San Francisco this past May. I joined the Leaders Debate session titled “How New Players, New Platforms & New Technologies Will Transform Digital Banking. Is There A Role For The Branch In The Digital World?”
In preparation for that session, they asked me to write a blog entry considering the role of physical bank branches in the digital world. In an attempt to answer that single question, I posed other questions and attempted to answer them:
- In this increasingly digital world, customers still go to bank branches, why?
- How do digital technologies affect in-person experiences?
- How do digital technologies change the setting where those experiences happen?
